Heavy Duty Steward/131-17

***Shift: Grave - 10pm-6am***

Clean and sanitize all dishes and silverware for use by guests. Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment. Keep banquet areas clean and sanitized. Prepares tableware for washing, i.e. scrapes plates, pre-soak silverware, places all items to be washed in their proper dishwasher rack. Sets up dishwashing machine, i.e. drains closed, tanks filled, temperatures at correct level, detergent at proper level. Thoroughly cleans dishwashing equipment and working areas. Collects all soiled pots, washes and restocks cleaned pots on shelves. Responsible for all removal of garbage and refuse. Mops and sweeps floors, washes walls and ceiling tiles, sanitizes all cooking equipment, performs cleaning, prepping, and stocking (bulk items and basic).  High school diploma or GED required. Must be at least 21years of age. Previous experience as a heavy duty cleaner, steward, dishwasher or similar janitorial experience is preferred. Must be willing to obtain certifications directly related to the job (i.e. Haz-Mat, Food Handlers, etc). Must be able to pass basic math test. Must have or be able to obtain food handlers’ permit within 30 days of employment and maintain same throughout employment.  Must be able to tolerate areas with high temperatures in excess of 115 degrees near dish machine and tolerate the following chemicals for cleaning and sanitizing all kitchen areas: sanitizer, degreaser, oven cleaner, etc. Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Must be able to constantly lift, carry, push, pull, up to 300 pounds in cart or otherwise move objects. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working from assigned work area. Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, bright lights, and noise. Must be able to spend extended periods of time walking or standing.
