Steward (Dishwasher)/130-17

Cleans and sanitizes all dishes and silverware to be used by guests; cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment and banquet areas. Prepares tableware for washing: clears and pre-soaks dishware and utensils, places items in proper dishwasher rack. Operates dishwashing machine and stacks and stores clean dishware in appropriate kitchen area. Responsible for removal of garbage and cleaning and sanitizing all kitchen areas (floors, walls, ceiling tiles).  Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to tolerate areas with high temperatures in excess of 115 degrees near dish machine; must be able to use chemicals for cleaning kitchen areas, such as sanitizers, degreasers, oven cleaners, etc. and exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 40 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. High school diploma or GED required, or demonstrate the ability to perform the math, reading and comprehension requirements of the position. Must be able to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions. Must be willing to obtain certifications directly related to the job (HAZMAT, Food Handlers, e.g.) and work non-traditional schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays; overtime may be required.
