The application support specialist's responsibilities include providing necessary technical support and training relating to various applications, system-level software, and other general computing applications. Responsible to support any malfunctioning applications and working with vendors for software support and troubleshooting. Also responsible for documenting systems applications.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate's degree in Computer Science or a related field from a community college or other approved educational institution; and four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Skill in effectively communicating information through verbal and written correspondence to employees, and managers, including writing reports, business correspondence, documentation, and procedural manuals.
- Excellent communication skills in order to explain highly technical information to non-technical staff.
- Skill in solving practical problems and dealing with situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Skill in identifying and resolving administrative problems under pressure conditions.
- Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
